Sip and See – why this Southern tradition is becoming so popular!

Party

A Sip and See is great way to show off your newborn baby to family and friends. This Southern tradition is gaining popularity in Australia and it’s easy to see why.

The first few weeks after bringing home your newborn can be very overwhelming. You’re trying to establish a routine with your baby while sleep deprived and emotional so the last thing you need to be worrying about is keeping your house, and yourself, tidy as visitors drop by at random times to see your new bundle of joy.

 Enter, the Sip and See!

A low-key party held about 2 to 8 weeks after baby comes home. Guests get to coo over the newborn and all you need to do is serve some drinks (the sip part) and some light snacks. As the party only goes for a couple of hours, you and baby are not left exhausted.

A nice alternative to a traditional Baby Shower, at the Sip and See your baby will be the centre of attention (great if you’re a little shy), there are no games, the food is as simple as you like and both men and women are welcome.

Decorations can be as simple or elaborate as you like. Our Oh Baby cake topper is an easy way to add some sparkle to a shop bought cake and string up one of our Tissue Tassel Garlands for a colourful backdrop

But what if you want both? Then go right ahead. A Sip and See complements a Baby Shower beautifully and is a lovely way to celebrate the arrival of your newborn.
